Canal-specific observations
- Canal width and boat traffic
- Water depth and equipment access
- Continuous wall lines and transitions between properties
- Drain outlets and upland grading
- Docks, lifts, piles and utility crossings
- Pool, building and vehicle distance from the edge
Neighbors affect transitions, not ownership of your decision
Adjacent walls can brace, expose or redirect loads at a project boundary. A replacement should address how new and existing elevations, materials and ends connect without assuming the neighbor's system is sound.
Construction access can control the method
A narrow side yard, screen enclosure, pool or overhead line may limit land-side equipment. Water access may add mobilization and environmental controls. These constraints should appear explicitly in estimates.
