Build a wall map
Number panels or ten-foot segments from a fixed end. Mark wall returns, drains, dock attachments and nearby improvements. Use the same labels in photo filenames and repair records.
Photograph three scales
- Whole-wall context from fixed endpoints
- Panel or segment view showing nearby features
- Close-up with a safe measurement reference
Keep source documents
Save surveys, permits, sealed plans, contracts, change orders, inspection reports, warranties and repair invoices. Record who performed work and what material was used.
Do not turn monitoring into delay
Monitoring is appropriate only when the condition is safe to observe and the chosen professional guidance supports it. Active movement, open voids and immediate hazards need action, not a photo schedule.
